We all knew this was going to happen...but she didn't listen, did she? She could have had it all...but she peed everything up against a wall & filled herself with drugs day in, day out.

Many here will (sanctimoniously) say that you wasted your talent. I don't think so. You had an INCREDIBLE voice and I thank you for sharing it with us less fortunate (in the talent department), even if it was for a brief time. Sure, your life was not mainstream but it was your life. Who am I to say how you should have led it, or comment on what made you do the things you did?? I am sorry that we had to lose you so soon but I sincerely hope that you have now found whatever you could not find here on Earth. And I am jealous that the angels get to hear you, when we cannot. RIP

Another addict dies and this time a very famous one, when will people learn that even taking a chance on trying cannibis can in some people lead to stronger drugs and a ruined life, why take the chance, nobody knows if they have an addictive trait in their make up.
I am so sorry to hear of a young star who had everything to live for leaving us so early in her life, I was not a great fan of Amy and of all her tracks I only like Back to Black but she was obviously very talented, my thoughts are with her family.

When I heard about Amy, I felt quite upset; you do when you hear that someone of a similar age to yourself dies. However it appears to have been a self fulfilling prophercy and a subject close to my heart as my older brother is a heroin addict, and I worry for him.
The issue is that people who have mental health issues such as depression and anxiety and are unable to cope with life emotionally seek to escape it via substance addiction. Sadly the laws of this country and human rights stop forced intervention in such cases; a person with these type of issues cannot get the help they need because they do not want it.
Yes she was talented. I have all of her music; but the media certainly did not help her, only emphasized her problems.
There are thousands of people like her in this world, like my brother who need actual help not to be shunned and thought of like lepers due to their problems. If other people genuinely cared and took time to understand these people, then the stats for overdoses and suicides would be lower.

Just because she is famous does not make this any better or right. The constant Media tagging and her been let on stage in front millions in her condition makes this bad, look she's famous and drunk, drugged up, wow how cool, how cool indeed. Lets not forget, her talent and her fame does not cancel out here lifestyle and a her role model status here. I'll leave a tribute, to the vocal side her of this troubled young lady., but lets not kid ourselves here.

Amy Winehouse had real raw down to earth talent. I will miss the hope of new music from Amy. She gave a small sample of what she could do when she wanted. Drug addiction is a sickness. It should not be used in tabloids to exploit stories. It should be treated confidential as other medical issue a person has. I am not sure anyone could help Amy but I will miss the hope.
