Cheers for Cher Lloyd at No1

CHER Lloyd proved her famous "haters" wrong yesterday by hitting No1 with debut single Swagger Jagger.
But despite having her first hit she says she's still having a hard time - because of her Worcestershire accent.

Cher, who was performing at London's G-A-Y club on Saturday, said: "People keep meeting me and saying I sound like a farmer, like 'oooh arrrgh'.

"Hopefully, the accent's disappearing because I'm spending so much time in London. I'm staying in hotels and it's not nice. I'd rather be home - where my mum does my washing."

She also said she is deliberately gobby so people take her seriously as an "urban" act.

She added: "You have to be in your face and not care. It's all part of my stage presence."

Along with that screwed up look she pulls when rapping.

Doesn't prove anything. The song is still a joke and her sales weren't that impressive... she was just lucky there was no competition this week.

What a ridiculous and pathetic comment from mufc2199. I can't stand Cher because after several weeks of the XFactor she became cocky had a nasty attitude and was a brat. SO WHAT WAS THERE TO LIKE? She sang some of the songs very well but her head grew the size of a pumpkin. I'm amazed her song has reached number one IT IS CRAP!!!. What are we all suppose to be Cher fans? If she stayed as she was when she first entered the XFactor I'm sure she'd have more fans.

Doing a track with the melody to Oh My Darlin' Clementine isn't gonna help!!
I see she's "performing" at the Astoria (or G-A-Y) club in London. Makes sense!
Our crowd are so embracing. No chance of any missiles being thrown at her there.
I'm not a Cher "hater",(certainly no fan) but seriously, my 5yr old niece won't listen to this.

And using the word 'hater' to label anyone who has different views from you simply shows how defeatist and unimaginative you are......

same same goodd on her too! Defo not the best of sogs or lyrics used in asong or rap in fact terrible but she made it to the top nontheless. tbh I dont think anyone cares about the UK charts anyway not since 1982, I mean Chers new 'song' only sold 66,000 copies which is ridiculously low turnover by any songs standards and the only people that bought it (apart from me to show support) were mainly young school girls so this girl still isnt reaching out to the UK hiphop community and I still dont think that she has any credibility despite no.1 success. If you're not reaching out to the right audience then you've defo go not cred and even her own audience didnt even take this tune seriously enough so yeah it is very easy to hit the UK no.1 spot these days.

The fact that 'Swagger Jagger' has made it to No.1 proves without a doubt that British people have bloody terrible taste in music. The X Factor has completely destroyed and kind of real talent left in the UK.

SERIOUSLY awful song with melody ripped off from another tune. You don't have to sell many to get number one in the UK. The wombles, Mr. Blobby, The Smurfs have all been No1 in the UK proving this song fits well into that useless category.

I'm sympathetic to Cher but if she's looking for longivity in her career then I'd suggest that she makes up her own rules and looks to find a way of being herself on stage - the public don't fall in love with anyone who's essentially fake.

I have nothing against the girl but the song is rubbish and I'm tired of her brats labelling anyone who dislikes the song as a 'hater'... they're the ones that need to grow up.

It's nothing to do with "haters", you are simply garbage, getting to number 1 is no proof of quality, Joe Dolce's "Shaddupa your face" (google it if your under 30) beat Ultravox's Vienna to No1, Mr Blobby, Bob The Builder, Crazy Frog etc all had No1's. Even when Oasis & Blur had their "battle" the biggest selling album of that year was Robson & Jerome singing cover versions for Mr Cowells bank account!!! There are always millions of idiots to part from their cash.

The song is awful! What idiots genuinly think the song is good enough to spend money on? It is without a doubt the worst song of the year so far, its really embarassing actually that she is representing British music today. She calls herself an urban act yet her song rips off a nursery rhyme? it really is very humiliating she is just an urban/ hip- hop wannabe, if i was her i would escape the 'X- Factor machine' as soon as i could and at least try to create decent music, or better still just disappear.

She doesn't refer to them as 'haters' because they don't like this song, it's because of the relentless campaign against her and the constant abuse she receives from people who don't even listen to her music. I am not a fan of hers by any means but I see people commenting on stories about her calling her 'talentless' and it's so pathetic. Given that the people commenting are most likely just in from their 9 to 5 while this 18 year old has proven that she can sing very well, dance very well and rap fairly well and is having a go at making a career for herself instead of lying about on the dole, talentless she certainly isn't. Her music doesn't do anything for me either but I won't talk nonsense to reinforce my opinion. Good luck to her, I hope she steams up the begrudging, envious and boring 'haters' even more.
